At Children’s Dentistry, we want to help you set your child up for a lifetime of good oral health. Healthy habits begin even before your child’s first teeth begin to emerge. Our Las Vegas infant dentists will work with you to help ensure that you’re taking the right steps for your child’s dental health.
When Should You Make Your Child’s Appointment?
Your child should have their first dentist appointment within 6 months of the eruption of their first tooth, no later than age one. Initial dental visits for babies are usually primarily informative, but it’s important to choose a dentist who specializes in pediatric dentistry. The habits learned at these early visits will play a key role in your child’s long-term dental health.
The Parents’ Role
When your child is too young to take care of their teeth themselves, parents play an important role in their oral health. Our infant dentists in Las Vegas stress the importance of cleaning your child’s teeth and gums for them, teaching them proper techniques once they are old enough. It’s also important to make sure your child gets enough fluoride through water, toothpaste, or professional treatments. You should avoid letting your child go to bed with a bottle, as this can lead to a dental condition called baby bottle decay.
Schedule Your Appointment
We offer a full range of pediatric dental services and treatments from any of our six locations, including dental care for infants and toddlers. To make your child’s first dentist appointment, contact our Las Vegas infant dentist today.
