FAQ Questions

What will my child’s first visit be like?

Children’s Dentistry is a warm, welcoming environment for your children and your family. Everything from the training of our staff to the design of our office is made to put children at ease about visiting the dentist. You can expect a calm, relaxing atmosphere with friendly staff who will answer all of your questions and welcome you and your child through every step of their appointment. Our dentists and staff speak both English and Spanish.

During your child’s first visit, you’ll be asked to fill out some paperwork with basic information about your child’s medical history. As part of a first appointment, we will take x-rays, clean the teeth, and look for any dental issues. At the end, we’ll schedule your next appointment for treatment or your next checkup.

At what age should I bring in my baby for dental treatment?

Our dentists and staff are specially trained to care for infants and children of all ages. The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children visit a pediatric dentist by one year of age, or within 6 months of the time their first tooth erupts.

What is sedation dentistry?

Sedation dentistry is treatment with a gentle sedative at the start of an appointment. Some options for sedatives will help your child be completely relaxed, and they may not even remember their treatment, similar to being put to sleep.

Sedation dentistry is fantastic for anyone who suffers from anxiety about the dentist, including children with special needs.
